So this song is O humdum Soniyo re from the 2002 Bollywood movie Saathiya where the lead actor was Vivek Oberoi and actress was Rani Mukerji. Many Indian users on here will know it tho. Damn I used to think maybe this song was from around 2007-2010 but didn't expect it to be 2002 song as it sounds relatively modern to me unlike many 90s to early 2000s Bollywood songs. So the nostalgia is mainly about 2024 here. That's because even though I probably heard this song around before too, in Sept 2024 I remember I just freshly entered 3rd semester of MBA and I was 23 and during lunch break I decided to explore Electronic City of our city Bangalore in India and find a good restaurant to eat and I was solo and ate in chicken biryani and chicken kebab in a small restaurant and they were playing this song. I really liked it as that time was a turning point for me. I was finally confident and talking to women in my MBA campus, talking to this woman Dimple especially(before she eventually distanced herself) and other women too like Aindrila, Chetna and even i remember talking to this woman Shubhi for the first time on that day. I was just feeling chill and happy hearing the song as by then I was talking to women from my campus for a couple of weeks.
I was feeling so chill and casual that I even messaged my male friend Ali to join me in the restaurant and that the song O humdum Soniyo re is playing so we can just chill here and eat biryani haha even though I already started eating biryani there. He didn't join me tho as he didn't have classes that day so was just in his room. So I was vibing the song, having biryani, drinking coca cola and almost celebrating my confidence with women and that I was building connections especially with Dimple. Even after eating when walking around Electronic City to my campus, I was hearing this song on YouTube in my earphones and vibing. I was also kinda excited as in few days we were going to our hometown Siliguri in West Bengal of India so this song made me feel so chill and happy and carefree as I had a trip coming up too. You know what's funny? Even in the class, this song was in my mind and I was looking around while laughing/smiling and looked at this guy in our class and laughed at him for no reason simply because the song was playing in my mind and he was confused why I was laughing for no reason haha. Now at 25, I am feeling so nostalgic hearing this and missing that phase so much.
