why do some people think a person doesn't have a job because he isn't trying or something is wrong with him?

So I am making this post because I have noticed this thing a lot. I am myself searching for a job as I am done with my MBA recently. Even though I fully completed MBA in Nov 2025(so about 7-8 months ago), the job search has been ongoing for like a year as a whole. But in one of my posts on here about socializing, an user also said that it's also weird that I still don't have a job still and they assume I am not trying and even assumed maybe I live in a tiny village with no opportunities but that simply isn't true. I mentioned in many of my posts I live in the city Bangalore which is a major IT hub of India so definitely not a village but a major city. I am 25 now and definitely filling job applications daily. I am also getting screening calls and interviews but in the end getting rejected or ghosted. I just had an interview in Deloitte 4 days ago but unfortunately got rejected. I also had another virtual interview today. So yeah I am actively applying and attending interviews.

The thing is I did my MBA major in Business Analytics so mostly have been searching entry level Analyst roles which are harder due to competition and heavy filtering especially ATS. Yeah many of you on here said me to go for a job outside my education for now. I am definitely not just sticking to Business Analyst roles but also applying for Marketing, Operations and MIS types ones too but I can't go beyond that because this advice for going for any type of jobs fails in India. I literally live in India with parents(normal in India) and reputation matters. Many people here does job based on what they studied in college or at least within that domain. I can't just take some random job. India is much more collectivist country. My relatives in West Bengal will gossip about it, parents will worry about what will others think as I did an MBA, also the Bengali family friends circle here in Bangalore too will gossip or be like "Why did he do an MBA if he is doing such jobs?" So yeah the India factor matters in my case too and that's why I am searching for jobs within my MBA domain like Analyst or Marketing or Operations. I can't just randomly pick something random. My parents have even hidden it from my relatives that I have no job and lied to them that I am working just to save their faces and reputation.

I am definitely trying my best tho. Last year I wasnt even getting screening calls or interviews as my resume was being filtered by ATS but I updated it so I am getting more calls and interviews but the only thing is somehow I am getting ghosted or rejected either after the interview or after the screening calls. So idk why some people assume that I must be not trying hard enough to get a job even though I am trying and there are even external factors too like competition, hiring freeze, ATS filtering, way too many applicants etc.

You're working hard to achieve your goals. Reddit has many posts on this "can't find/get a job" even for qualified people. I am praying that our country's leaders/CEO's will create new jobs for our hard working Americans. Everyone is squeezing everyone for money but also laying off the spenders-- laying off the employees. Politically/legally we need to equalize the value of a human life when compared to corporations. Thru lobbying the power of a corporation has overcome the power of the people. Corporations are run by the genius and their attorneys. The legal fight is not fair for financial/legal process reasons.
Still we have to keep hoping for opportunities, change, and results. I will say a prayer for you today. You're not alone.
