Doomscrolling gonna be the end of me, I waste so much time without realizing when there are much better creative outlets I enjoy doing that I push away.

I don't think just sitting with boredom has great results either. It's important to direct one's thoughts to something creative too. Creativity usually comes when someone is actively searching for a solution to a problem with limited resources. Otherwise you can sit and repeat someone else's thoughts over and over or just stare at some object in the room.
