Nowadays many people don't sit with boredom

I don't think just sitting with boredom has great results either. It's important to direct one's thoughts to something creative too. Creativity usually comes when someone is actively searching for a solution to a problem with limited resources. Otherwise you can sit and repeat someone else's thoughts over and over or just stare at some object in the room.
