i found a dead rat in the back room last night

idk how long he's been there.. i tried to buy live traps but they never sent them.. my dad gave me two snap traps and a large live trap that's big enough for raccoons.. i bought two live traps but they were for mice.. too small for a grown rat

i went back cause i heard a cat meowing and was making sure the neighbors cat didn't get shut into the back room again .. no cat just.. a partially decayed dead rat..

i have to remove it latter.. i just don't feel good today.. vomiting enough already

@GoFish we had mice at the last place I worked. The girls would always call me if the found a dead one.

Sometimes they eat poison in one place and go off and die somewhere else.

@Adrift yeah i had poison back there i just forgot to mention it 🤐 i'll have to go move him when i feel better.. hope it was just the one 😐

@GoFish If you use poison, put inside a disposable live trap so that when they eat the poison they can't escape to somewhere else.
Then you just throw the whole trap away.

A Rat was in our wood framed garage and it got into the bird feed drum... I set a live trap with a piece of pizza crust.. and caught it. When the girls were in school I filled a garbage can with water and dropped the cage into the pail... as I dug a hole to burry the corpse...

Another time - one burrowed UNDER our house and found a weak spot in the basement concrete slab.. I saw a small hole with dirt on the sides.. A bit later the dishwasher drain hose leaked water all over the kitchen floor - the rat wanted a drink... I set a snap trap.. it took the bait and did not get caught.. So I bent a hook into the snap trap trigger and fastened the bait to it securely.. I also put a cable on the snap trap and anchored it.. 20 minutes beside the dishwasher ... SNAP.. My Wife came to tell me it went off.... and yes I caught that rat all right - the bar went right over its skull crushing it.. BIG ugly thing.. Tossed it into the trash pail and cleaned the trap ... Just in case..

Some times... I am NOT such a nice guy...

@pdqsailor1 ah i wanted a live trap but they never sent it 🤐 my bro had some like fish food pellets back there and the rat ate it all .. my dad gave me a tray of poison pellets which i didn't really want nor a dead rat but i set it back there anyway 🤐 i hadn't been back there in awhile i only went out there cause i gear a vat meowing and was making sure one wasn't back there again
