I’m not a believer. The indoctrination scares me.

All I see are multiple “religions” killing each other for no reason. It’s the ultimate crime from supposedly “god” fearing people. It makes zero sense. It’s truly counterintuitive.

Long ago people believed in polytheism. That was proven to be untrue and was replaced with monotheism. So, all those gods were proven to be false, but one Omnipotent Omnipresent God is true? I have difficulty following that logic.

Plus, I was born in the US. If I was born in the Middle East, I should have a different belief? So location determines the supreme being/entity I destined to follow?

Thanks, but no. I’m going to just stick with kindness as my adopted religion.

But that's only because some people follow religion itself. They think what they want to think. They think that whatever I feel comfortable with as an individual is what God believes or requires.

I am open to the idea of a "God" but I am not religious.

I think the idea of a supreme being comes from the fact that some peoples' egos are so big that it cannot be contained in their own mind. Some people need to have something outside themselves to worship.
