I honestly get so angry whenever I get ghosted after a job interview. Can you relate to me too?
So as you all know I mention in my posts that I am freshly done with my MBA and job seeking now but in this post I will share you my biggest frustration in this process. So I have noticed one thing so far that many companies completely ghost me or go silent after I give a job interview if I am not selected or shortlisted instead of just sending a rejection email 😠😡. Yeah plenty of times this has happened. Another thing which happens is some HR from the company I applied calls me for screening by asking my background like my education background and also the internship and they say they will let me know if my profile gets shortlisted but plenty of times there is silence and I get no calls for an interview but I still feel the ghosting after an interview is far more frustrating 😤😠. Yeah it has happened plenty of time like few months ago gave an interview for a Digital Marketing role in a healthcare firm but I guess I missed some points in the questions they asked and yeah I never got update whether I was rejected or selected. Same with another Data Analytics role where they took a long interview online but later they never emailed me anything about the interview results. After 2 weeks of silence when I reached out about emailing them about the update, they said they already sent an email that they won't proceed with my candidature but its a lie because they never sent any email at all 😫😤. Similarly recently I had walk-in interview which I thought was an Analytics role too but it turned out to be a BPO role and the interview was pretty easy mostly testing my English communication skills but also asked whether I can join immediately even that day itself but I am looking for Analytics instead of BPO or sales so I said I will let them know by the end of the day. They also said they will also let me know about my interview results by evening but nothing. Just silence and they ghosted me as well. I don't regret it but I feel so angry how I get ghosted. It has happened plenty of times.
I just get angry and frustrated that these freaking grown adults are behaving this way in a professional workplace that to in a city like Bangalore which is a major IT hub and often called as the Silicon Valley of India. I expect a lot of professionalism here but no, even they ghost. These HRs and managers are comfortably sitting under AC in a corporate office while ghosting fresh MBA and college grads like us who want a job. 😡😡. Sometimes I honestly feel like writing an angry email to them for being so unprofessional 😡😤 but I don't because I will also sound unprofessional if I did that. I am a 25 year old male seeking job so I definitely don't wanna sound unprofessional while job seeking. But serious I am fed up of being ghosted. I live with parents(normal in India) and my mom often feels worried that I am not working yet and even scolds me and thinks something is wrong with me and thats why I am not getting a job which makes me even more angry after getting ghosted because these freaking HRs and all are having a lavish AC life in the office while I am getting scoldings from mom in home about not getting a job. I just had an online interview 3 days ago. Yeah today is a weekend so its a bit early to worry about it. I gave the interview well but I am worried whether they will ghost me as well. I want this one as the company specifically works on Power BI in which I am very proficient now. Another company I applied where they said they are specifically looking for candidates with engineering+MBA educational background which I have plus sufficient knowledge in Python, SQL and Power BI and also a 2 months internship in JK Tech where the Indian giant named Unilever was our client. So far no update or mail from them and its been a week(but also had weekend in between) so yeah if even after having all these if they can't update then what can I even expect. 😡😠. I am really hoping for some positive result next week. I was venting on here about it as I directly can't say this to them so yeah I am just taking out my frustration by posting this.
