Life Was Different When I Was A Child.

Those were the days, my lad. 🙄

We had that in my old neighborhood, in the much-maligned Oakland. I had that with a couple of long-time residents when I moved here. But one moved away, the other died. Now it is barely a hand wave in acknowledgement as we come and go, and not even that with the newest.

I accept partial responsibility for that. I haven't really made an outreach effort given my age, mobility issues, health. But then that used to be the magnet that drew the younger neighbors to look after and assist you.

Neighbors place was around ten trailers down from us. This was the birthday party where mom took me for that neighbors kid.

This is whole trailer park is where I delivered circulars nine years later.

The same trailer park, where the across the street neighbor got so drunk, after my half brother's wedding, that she took off all her clothes in the middle of the street. Yet the same neighbor that gave all us kids figs off her tree and vegetables from her garden. Her granddaughter I had a huge crush on, for a couple of years and we often wrote each other hand written messages. Sent in the mail.

The same trailer park, where I delivered a third of the news papers, I had to deliver in my early teens.

So many memories of how we helped each other! And it's just a start.
@DeWayfarer Wonderful memories.

Makes me want to "like" this post 🥹🥹😬😬

In all seriousness, I have a couple of neighbors like that and I would gladly reciprocate.
@TrunkZ You're fortunate to have those kind of neighbors. And, they're fortunate to have you.
