That has been my experience. As years passed and we went back to our hometown, our children were amazed at the stories people told about my athletic accomplishments. I was amazed too, since I didn't do half of what they remembered.
@exexec I'm just the opposite. No one talks about what a great football and baseball player I was. I can't understand to this day why no colleges offered me a scholarship.
