Our president has said that they'll stop recruiting after the peace treaty 🙀‼

This is huge for two reasons, the first one being the fact that such things being discussed suggests that we really might "soon" get a peace treaty. It's not certain or anything, but it's a good sign. Secondly they may stop conscription, or they may continue to partially conscribe but it sounds like they have plans to stop eventually. It's all very vague right now, but it's huge for us because if they stop the conscription, then my husband can have a job and we can get out of debt. Idk this just makes me incredibly hopeful. 🩵 💖

Whilst I am hopeful that peace will be achieved; DJT (our president?) is known for his posturing false narratives (equivalent to leading ppl on “fanning expectations”) using psychological catch . . . phrases (i.e. greatest ever, no one ever has, so close, only I could have, GOAT, etc.) to manipulate during “negotiations”)and is a known flake (con artist)
The classic I will if urged to/if you ( they ) would just . . . Negotiation tactics used in business haven’t worked in humanitarian/war treaties in the past? Idk, but as far as I know reducing human lives to a commodity is a war crime.
May god bless us all, . . Hopefully

@jehova That's not the initials of our president, our as in me and my husband (or "us over here"). 😸

Does what I wrote fit in some way with what's happening in America, if slang is used? Because surely you guys don't have conscription, but you are involved in the peace treaty, so I suppose there might be a linguistic confusion which I don't see. 😅

I certainly agree with what you've said about your president. I wouldn't recommend that people listen to a single word that comes out of that man's mouth, but he is predictable: He is a business man through and through, and he's gonna do whatever earns him the most money each time he takes a decision.

@Nightwings to my knowledge conscription known as a ‘military draft’ in American English. Was discontinued after the Vietnam war it’s a voluntary service now. But at the time Mr. Trump avoided the draft when he was called to serve upon being diagnosed with bone spurs. Except that he went golfing to celebrate demonstrating he was faking his condition. I’m not sure whom your president is, im an American and assume everyone is. Oops.
The u.s. president is dangerous dishonest and a known con artist. May god save us all.

@jehova No worries, I was talking about conscription here in Ukraine. I am scared for my husband. We've been struggling economically with inflation that you can't even imagine, and if our apartment is taken from is, they'll look for him and conscribe him into the war. He's not gonna be able to do that, he's autistic and generally speaking most soldiers die. The ones who survive till the end of this war are very few. He can't work because of the conscription that takes place everywhere, he can't even go outside anymore, it's not safe. They're everywhere. I can't work either as I jist live here on a temporary permit. This is why I'm so desperate for the war to end and for the conscription to stop.

@Nightwings I am very troubled that you must endure this hardship. Agriculture/farming is always a needed skill set and occupation. Perhaps go into that. Indeed agriculture is so necessary farmers often are spared from the draft. Indoor agriculture is probably your best option. Food will always be needed and during war it is often in short supply. I’d suggest indoor agriculture to make ends meet also civilian employment is needed for the war effort to continue. Who will produce the weapons and food the troops need if everyone is on the front lines?
His disability seems to disqualify him anyway. Best of luck!

@jehova He is not disqualified, we have been in hiding, living in someone else's apartment for about a year now, since he got a conscription letter. It is not safe for him to go outside at all anymore. There are recruiters everywhere on the streets. They recruit everyone in any workplaces too. We are doing anything we can from home. I am trying to earn money selling NSFW art online, and my husband is a programmer. He's trying to get a freelance job as a programmer, and simultaneously working on a few projects that can hopefully bring in some money. But the war must end soon for us to have a chance, because we're drowning in interest.
