Today I got confronted and policed by a Cafe staff or manager for something very harmless. Was I really being a threat?

Yes I know yesterday you all said my posts sounds the same and all but today I will only share what happened as I just want to vent about it as I was treated unfairly today, I won't share about the other socializing today and only about what happened. So I went to Church Street area of our city Bangalore in India which is one of the most cosmopolitan and also youthful part of the city and there is this Gourmet Cafe. So it was evening and what happened is just I waved at two women who were standing outside the Cafe and just said them Hello from a distance with a smile and nothing more. I didn't even talk to them but yet this man from the Cafe who is probably the manager/staff of the Cafe came to me and said me "Don't come to my store again. You are waving at my customers. Whats your name?" I said I was just normally saying hello to new people but he kept asking my name in a confrontational way. He kept saying in quite confrontational and bit aggressive tone "Do you know them? I don't want you to wave at my customers in my store" and kept asking my name. He kept repeating that he didn't want me to wave at his customers in his store and kept asking my name instead of telling me to just leave. Whats more frustrating was the women weren't his customers anymore as they were outside the Cafe on the sidewalk and I waved at them outside the Cafe probably done eating and not "inside his Cafe" but he kept saying "in my store". He had no business intervening about it outside the Cafe but yet he kept repeating the same lines.

He didn't even ask the women whether I was bothering them or something and the women also didn't come forward or say him I made them uncomfortable which shows my wave was harmless and I only did it once and didn't bother them. They were just watching the scene from a distance as he was being confrontational with me. He kept saying it in front of the women and even others on the public sidewalk. I eventually walked away as he was pushing me for my name. I didn't say him my name and just walked away and he once again tried asking my name but didn't follow me more. This felt like a full moral policing which happens in parts of India. Yes in many of India, things are still conservative about male-female interactions. I was intervened before too by staffs for simply talking to women in pubs even though I did nothing wrong but they were at least professional and calmer but today's one was literally being confrontational and a bit aggressive and kept asking my name loudly near everyone. It sucks how rigid things can be in this country even if I do nothing wrong and respect women's boundaries. Just for a harmless wave, he treated me as if I was some big threat.

If your story is complete, you didn't do anything wrong. The cafe owner overreacted.
