I feel that way, with all the things I want to do but don't have time to cram it all in. And as the years go by they seem to only get shorter
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
Tell me about it.
Nightwings · 31-35, F
@DunningKruger I feel more positive today, it comes and goes for me. How about you?
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
@Nightwings Not a day goes by that I am not reminded of it. But I've learned to live with it.

Life
In a good one, I probably got a 50 years left.
In a great one, I get married next year and enjoy a 50 years of married life.
In a bad one, I die alone in between.
In a mediocre one, I die today during sleep.

@badminton Agreed you can't think that way, you just have to enjoy the now. But I keep in mind not to delay the things I want.
Nightwings · 31-35, F
@JimboSaturn The truth is that most people think death every now and then, but if it became an obsession then I think it would be wise to see a therapist.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@Nightwings Very true, however I think about death more now as I'm getting older. Doesn't help that friends and family are starting to die. I don't obsess about it , but I'm certainly more aware.

because of your finances and the war, or are you anxious about ageing?

@BlueVeins Thank you. I think about stuff like that too, good geoprotective medicine, new possibilities in organ transplantation, and even sci-fi stuff like uploading our minds to machines eventually. 😅
I am sure that the less accomplished we feel in life, the more anxious we are about it's end. The solution like everyone else is saying, is really to live more. I read something interesting about why our early years felt so long, and seem to go faster and faster as we age: New impressions make us feel this way, so if we continue to experience things completely foreign to us in adulthood, time should "slow down" so to speak. That's easier said than done of course.

@Nightwings I have been stuck in a small city, out in the suburbs. I have been looking for a job far away in a great city where I can get around on foot. That is what I really want in life. I think I will get that soon and life will be a lot... slower, as you say. (:
Nightwings · 31-35, F
@BlueVeins I really hope you get to do that soon!
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
It's something to face and start putting life in your years 🖤
Perry1968 · M
Why do you have little time left?
Nightwings · 31-35, F
@Perry1968 I guess it's not little time, but it's less than I would hope, and I have some health conditions that could take me early. /=
Perry1968 · M
@Nightwings Im so sorry 😞
Nightwings · 31-35, F
@Perry1968 It's okay, and nothing is set in stone, I think I've just been too stressed lately to start thinking like this.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Then dont. Get on with living it...😷
Nightwings · 31-35, F
@whowasthatmaskedman It was pretty sketchy when it looked like Ruddia was going to invade Ukraine, because Russia has done similar stunts before. People here didn't really believe they would actually do it. 😅
We had pets that would need passports and vaccines, which would probably have taken us too long to get anyways, and it would be sad to just put down 2 healthy young animals down for reasons we weren't even sure about – not to mention we'd have no place to go on such a short notice. It's not like my husband can just easily get a living permit in another country.

@Nightwings I dont want to be overdramatic here, because its not the same. But a lot of Jews in Germany felt the same as you do..😷
Nightwings · 31-35, F
@whowasthatmaskedman I mean it's always easy to look back in hindsight, but my last point about my husband not being able to get a living permit that quickly in another country, would still have been a problem if we did try to leave.
Manofoz · 61-69, M
That is an absurd way to think. So very negative
