Should high school, 9th to 12th grade include vocational training and a career pathway?

@jehova we used to , until we shifted away from manufacturing. But we still need plumbers electricians etc..

@AthrillatheHunt yes and software computer repair construction jobs etc. even telephone etiquette conversation skills and how to do taxes are important skills not being taught

@AthrillatheHunt yes and they don’t teach the skills for the next generation to fill that position; not anymore. If they do it’s at the price of a college degree

@jehova information is free. It’s up to the individual to educate themself . If you rely on govt for food housing education you already lost

@AthrillatheHunt yet until age 17 and graduating high school I’m instructed (and forced) to be in a building under careful supervision.

@jehova you can legally drop out at 16, and many do . Many others age out (21) or don’t have the credits to graduate .

@jehova yes. In NYC over 50% of black males don’t graduate HS. That number is over 33% for latin males .
Those numbers correspond directly w incarceration rates

@AthrillatheHunt wow I’d think people should be forced into ged programs or trade school if attending high school after age 18 exception for IEP, medical condition, and maternal paternal consideration.

@jehova you assume the govt wants an educated , free thinking population. They don’t . They want the opposite .

@AthrillatheHunt the government does want tax paying employable citizens that can be taxed instead of babysat. Returning society to that goal is very much needed

@jehova billionaires , which make up 1/10th of 1 percent pay 40% of total taxes. Those are the people govt needs , not 50k / 75k a year laborers or pencil pushers . One billionaire basically foots the tax bill for millions of others

The billionaires made fortunes on the spending of everyone that makes $50k a year pushing pencils and delivery driving . It is a system the fat cats on top wouldn’t make it without the worker bees pollinating the flowers

@jehova to the govts tax coffers , they ARE more important then anyone else . That’s why neither party ; while holding super majorities , have changed the tax code. Billionaires are also mega donors . That makes them way more important than us
