@AthrillatheHunt most of Europe does this. China definitely does. America? Not so much.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@jehova we used to , until we shifted away from manufacturing. But we still need plumbers electricians etc..
jehova · 36-40, M
@AthrillatheHunt yes and software computer repair construction jobs etc. even telephone etiquette conversation skills and how to do taxes are important skills not being taught
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@jehova a buddy who’s a union electrician w over 20 years experience makes BANK.
jehova · 36-40, M
@AthrillatheHunt yes and they don’t teach the skills for the next generation to fill that position; not anymore. If they do it’s at the price of a college degree
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@jehova information is free. It’s up to the individual to educate themself . If you rely on govt for food housing education you already lost
jehova · 36-40, M
@AthrillatheHunt yet until age 17 and graduating high school I’m instructed (and forced) to be in a building under careful supervision.
So which is it?!
So which is it?!

@jehova you can legally drop out at 16, and many do . Many others age out (21) or don’t have the credits to graduate .

@jehova yes. In NYC over 50% of black males don’t graduate HS. That number is over 33% for latin males .
Those numbers correspond directly w incarceration rates

jehova · 36-40, M
@AthrillatheHunt wow I’d think people should be forced into ged programs or trade school if attending high school after age 18 exception for IEP, medical condition, and maternal paternal consideration.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@jehova you assume the govt wants an educated , free thinking population. They don’t . They want the opposite .
jehova · 36-40, M
@AthrillatheHunt the government does want tax paying employable citizens that can be taxed instead of babysat. Returning society to that goal is very much needed
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@jehova billionaires , which make up 1/10th of 1 percent pay 40% of total taxes. Those are the people govt needs , not 50k / 75k a year laborers or pencil pushers . One billionaire basically foots the tax bill for millions of others
jehova · 36-40, M
@AthrillatheHunt and the billionaires are impeding the next generation from becoming productive. The billionaires made fortunes on the spending of everyone that makes $50k a year pushing pencils and delivery driving . It is a system the fat cats on top wouldn’t make it without the worker bees pollinating the flowers
jehova · 36-40, M
@AthrillatheHunt furthermore aristocrats and oligarchs is what you are describing billionaires more important than everyone else
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@jehova I never said it wasn’t symbiotic .
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@jehova to the govts tax coffers , they ARE more important then anyone else . That’s why neither party ; while holding super majorities , have changed the tax code. Billionaires are also mega donors . That makes them way more important than us
jehova · 36-40, M
@AthrillatheHunt there should be limits on donors per source. Per donor and caps on donation amounts
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@jehova neither party wants that so good luck. Billionaires are like a scarce resource that both party’s want to use
jehova · 36-40, M
@AthrillatheHunt states have done it but not the fed?
jehova · 36-40, M
@AthrillatheHunt Guillitine?
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@jehova DNC and RNC dude. Did you see the panic when Elon became pro Orange ? Dems lost that resource
jehova · 36-40, M
@AthrillatheHunt so yes? All politicians two term older than retirement age
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@jehova I’m anti death penalty
