I know right especially when i tell my mom stuff. My dad gives helpful advice. Ma wants to call customer support!

I really understand that feeling. Everyone says you need to open up and share your feelings. But then they use it as a weapon against you, and the therapists are the same way. They record everything and take notes on the computer, and now the government, Google, and the rest of the world know your personal struggles.

My answer is to keep your mouth shut and learn to deal with things in your own way. Some people keep a diary, or as some call it, a journal. Then they burn it so no one can read their thoughts, but it helps them get those feelings out of their head.

Others turn to art or different activities, finding various ways to express themselves.

@HumanEarth I wish I could. Im just stuck.

If anything, you got strangers to talk to here. Strangers sometimes have the best set of ears or eyes for reading in our case on this format.

Like me...You don't have to follow me or be my friend or anything. But if you want to talk....Talk. My PM box is always open if you just need that that stranger that will listen to you

@HumanEarth thank u for ur offer. Its very kind of u 🙏

I assume they just talk about how it is somehow your fault?

Yeah, when we have difficulties, it is best to tell them only to those who might be able to actually help, without judgement.

OR, if we have something we enjoy, it is best to share only with like-minded people cause they are less likely to try to ruin it for us.

@Foxygirl32 I know when we are going through something, we naturally want to get it off our chest.

But yeah we have to be careful who we tell.

In my family whenever someone was going through an ordeal, we always said, "Don't tell dad" even though we were all well over 21. 😄
Foxygirl32 · 31-35, F
@HoeBag yeah that was my mistake actually. I told dad😮‍💨

@Foxygirl32 You could be a member of our family. 🤣

My family used to tell me "Don't tell dad" even though I had not spoke to my dad since 2011.

I was never close to them. They gave me every reason not to be. Now, I’ve built my own little family, but I don’t want to burden them with my issues, so I keep it all to myself.
SpectralMourning · 41-45, M
I've experienced that as well. Always asking myself why I bothered to speak up. It's not what anyone wants.

I’ve found sharing with my mom often makes it worse sharing with my dad usually is helpful
try sharing it here. There are many understanding people here who also have life experience.

I personally think that keeping our problems to ourselves is a good call. Why bring others in to it?
Elisbch · M
I found this to be true too with my family at all stages of my life.

MY mistake is telling my brother. What he does to make it worse is... tell Mom. SHE'S the problem.
HoeBag · 46-50, F
@Trav2024 Funny you say that. My own brother does NOT seem like the blabbler mouth type BUT, he does repeat things.
