When it comes to adult dating, making adult friends, forming adult relationships (presumably involving romance, sex, intimacy, and more) ...

Are you afraid of everything, some things, or have no fear about any of it?

Do you feel you fully understand everything about it, only some of it, or feel you have no understanding of any of it?

As a mid-50's man I am completely gripped with fear about all of it, feel that I understand a litle bit of it, and find the thought of meeting new people, making adult friends, dating, etc. so scary that I do almost everything possible to avoid any chance of it happening.

Partly because I wouldn't know what to do or how to deal with feelings/emotions associated with it, partly because I lost basically all self-confidence about it due to my poor past relationship outcomes, and just in generally being almostly constantly socially anxious. Neuro-divergency, etc. doesn't help.

So avoidance is the safest pathway (for me).
