How should I confront a mother who smokes in her house around kids?

Yesterday I made this post about the mother of my son's classmate who chain-smokes in her house around kids and openly post about it on her Instagram.

All of you seemed to agree that reporting her to CPS would likely be just a waste of time. But do you think confronting her about her smoking habit via a DM could make her at least think about her behavior?

I'm not comfortable letting my son visit their place anymore knowing exactly how much she smokes and how nasty the smell in their house is. And I'm genuinely concerned about the well-being of her young daughter.

I just can't quite figure out what should I write to her... Any help would be appreciated!

Not that I think what she's doing is right, but how would you feel if someone tried telling you how to parent? Maybe not allow your children in her house. However I think saying something will lead to unnecessary drama in your life. You can clearly see by her Instagram she doesn't care what you think

I wouldn’t confront her personally. Reporting to CPS may be a waste of time but you don’t know that for sure. Sometimes it helps build a piece of the puzzle so I would report regardless.

You could DM her and tell her you son cant go over anymore because of her smoking. Are you concern how little she wears?

@JackDaniels I'm not sure I would wanna tell her that, cause I don't wanna make it sound like my son can't be friends with her son anymore...

And obviously her overly sexual outfits are a concern too especially given that I've heard from other parents that their kids have seen her topless in the garden when they have been visiting.

@DunningKruger Yeah I get it, as long as she isn't doing anything illegal, it's none of my business... But I'm still allowed to be concerned, right?

Also it's illegal in my state to smoke in a car with a minor, so it's not like she isn't breaking any laws either.
