November 1st is Samhain. That I do celebrate. 🙃

Halloween originated from Celtic Samhain. That's pretty much undisputed.

However Samhain is nothing like Halloween in any way.

@swirlie For a similar holiday to Samhain look up Día de los Muertos in Mexico. The reasoning is at least the same. Though still celebrated differently.

@swirlie No, yet I do have inlaws from there. I can understand some Spanish, yet definitely not fluent. I understand German far better, yet again not fluently. Relatives there as well.

Say kindergarten level on Spanish and 5th grade on German.

Cabo san Lucas is my favorite 'spa' destination! I have 3 female business associates who all live in Scandinavia and twice a year, we all rendezvous in Cabos to do some sailing and kite surfing, while enjoying all the fruits of life that come our way! I love the energy of that place!

Dad had once had some lease property in San Pablo.

And I managed to get by on my own in Germany at 14.
