I failed horribly at socializing tonight.

Doesn't anyone just want to walk together silently? Or have deep conversations about everything imaginable?

The surface level stuff makes me so uncomfortable and bored.

probably the next few dates will be throwaways - you don't need a new one right now do you?

next time - think about the small talk as a way for the person to reveal their thoughts and viewpoints.

and ask him about him - he'll carry the conversation and think you are a great conversationalist

@Pretzel it's just people I've kinda known for years that never did like me. I go through it because it's my son's friends parents. It's not even practice, it's just boredom and sadness getting through it.
