Not everyone wants to be a boss. Not everyone wants tons of money. Not everyone needs "success" in a societal sense.

It doesn't make us lazy at all. It just means we don't care about the false adversity created to keep us in false fear when in reality harmony is the way to health, longevity and true joy.

Maybe we want to sing and dance, grow food, make art, music and love. Maybe those things aren't a privilege and time for them shouldn't be limited. Maybe they aren't meant to be monetized and monopolized. Maybe they're an honest life and the grind is the lie.

We are scary to them because we can’t be bought. Remember that.

I no longer am ambitious in the sense I want a promotion or raise. I certainly don't want to be a boss. Every year my work makes us make goals and we are asked our long term goals. I don't have any lol. My goal is to be happy and do a good job, why must I always want to get promoted?

@JimboSaturn Completely relate to this answer. Every couple years I guess the people I work for get caught up in leadership culture and will play the "we care about your development and growth" game. Just let me do my work and pay me and leave me alone.

@SpectralMourning 🤣Exactly!

Read last night that what I assume would be Gen Z are refusing to move into management positions due to the stress and time commitment.
I see a lot of issues with income and stability becoming a large problem. To bad I changed my major in college, think there is a great topic for an Economic Dictorste Thesis.

@SageWanderer I am proud of Gen Z making some changes in the workforce because it's be pretty ridiculous in my working career. I've been promoted once and they called it a lateral move so they wouldn't have to give me a raise. There's never been some stairway to success in front of me even when I was working for it. The way we do things needs to change. Not everyone can make all the money and the rest of us are trying but only so many can get those jobs, only so many can handle them. I've seen people step down many times. It all just sucks.

I'm grateful for the employees I have that want to be very good at their current role.

I swear you pulled this right out of my mind. I had a big fight with someone over this exact topic this last weekend. I have never wanted to be a boss nor do I care about fighting my way through the rat race, I just want be.
I'm happy where I'm at i could advance. But i don't want to. I do not want to give up my peace

Absolutely spot on. If only everybody could see the truth in this.

My main reason for having the desire is to retire earlier and spend more time with family and friends before I die lol

I don’t want or need any of that.
