Is it the depression talking, or is it just realistic thinking?

The people around me are always telling me to go out and live my life, I'll regret it later if I don't. No. I didn't ask to be here, I'm only here because my parents wanted me. Once they are gone I'm clocking out, why would I stick around when I'm no longer wanted or needed?

Keep in mind depression is about how you think about yourself, life, and everything and you will be convinced that you are right and realistic.

But uh, how could you? If you looked at someone else in an identical situation it's unlikely you'd give them the advice you are giving yourself.

Here's the best I have.

Change is certain. The future is unknown to you. This is the only life you have. Struggling through the bad times to find better ones is the only realistic, sensible choice you have.
