What is the deal with getting family members to hold your baby?

We went through all the training to prepare for this small fragile thing. 😦 You haven't 😧 Hold the baby. 😨 Support the head or else it'll be crippled for life. 😰

I don't want kids, but even if I did, if I actually had a kid, the last people I would let hold it are the people who made me not want to have kids in the first place.
