I used to work where there were homeless shelters around. Some of the homeless had honest demons that they had no control over. Others were just trying to make it through the day.
I used to buy coffee, food, etc for them if they asked.
One woman asked if I could get her a pepsi. I bought her a half liter bottle. She was so thrilled.
It is such a little thing, but it makes such a huge difference.

@FoxyQueen yes absolutely!! Thank you for doing that 💙 it's just good and the right thing to do, and you're right, it makes a difference.
I think the way people avoid or otherwise treat them unlike other humans is so gross.
There's this one young woman I have seen around a lot, always crying or upset in some way. She came into market and was looking at some fudge from one of the vendors.
I asked her which one she wanted and she picked one. It's so easy.
I wanted to buy her breakfast but she was content with that and went on her way
Everytime I see her I just want to help her, it's so sad. She was walking down the street the other day hitting herself in the head and crying

@caccoon There was one woman who would be yelling at a really tall figure that only she could see. She would tell it to leave her alone. I always felt awful for her. To know she was probably seeing something that would have scared the beejeebers out of someone, and she's there scolding it loke a child. Seriously, that was bravery to me.
That's the key. That's precisely the key. Treat them like people. Because they are.
