My niece confiding in me about her 'friend' being racist is such a "yeah, girl we've all been through it" kinda conversation

and it's kinda lame I even look at it like that.

But alas, it's the world we live in. It's something she's gonna have to learn to navigate whether she likes it or not.

I would ask her in what way is she racist?
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@Adrift I think the racist way.

@basilfawlty89 describe exact incidents and words otherwise it could be bull$hit.
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@Adrift she described them to me privately, and it was indeed racist.
Racism doesn't need the "white person online" seal of approval to count as racism.

@basilfawlty89 Are you white?
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@Adrift mixed. You?
Adrift · 61-69, F
@basilfawlty89 mixed too.
The problem is I hear kids here use the word racist and they don't even know what it is.
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@Adrift "social and institutional prejudice based on perceived race or ethnicity".
There we go.
@Adrift I'm not questioning if it was racism. I don't need a second opinion on it either

@HijabaDabbaDoo you sound like your on one.
Have a nice day.

@Adrift see you. Please don't report random African Americans grilling, bird watching or you know...existing.
@Adrift nah, just had these conversations one too many times. It takes away from the whole point but ditto
