I guess I was the last straw.

I feel responsible. Excellent. No wonder I feel guilty today.

We were good friends once...

Yes, she is making the choice. It is her life.

You did well expressing the problems instead of letting things get worse. You can't allow people to control you no matter how difficult their lives are..it is exactly because they are going through a lot they must focus on what they can control and tend to their true problems.

Don't let this make you feel guilty. You're not responsible for someone else's decisions.
