why is it when you tell someone not to tell anybody , they always end up telling one person anyways?

I don't tell anyone things I don't want known
But I think people like the attention of saying oh do I have secret to tell you. Most people are curious and want to know the gossip. So of course they give that person extra attention trying to get them to tell the secret.
