Which decade do u think had the best music... ever ? 🤔 🎵 🎶

Hi. How many of you people here love music. I do. I listen to all kinds of styles and genres.
But in my opinion, nothing beats the music era from the 1970s. Nothing. 🥺
It just has this distinctiveness about it, this flair, this energy that I cannot explain.
The song below is a perfect example of why that decade gave us the best music ever created.
What do you think ? What decade had the best music that we have ever witnessed here on planet Earth.
Im listening. I think I know what decade some of you here are gonna say. Wanna challenge me.
I got tons of hits from the 70s. Stuff you aint never heard before. Comments. 😛

The 1970's followed by the 1960's for me .. some great stuff more recently for sure .. but so much great music came out of those years

@BrandNewMan It's amazing how diverse it was during that time.
@Zonuss Thanks for BC

1960's / early 1970s

From soul, to pop, to rock, and even country western, the words were clean, the beats were fantastic, and for any mood one cared to be in there were songs to accommodate it.

Let's not forget love and happiness

And there was The Temptations _ The Four Tops -Led Zeppelin _ Janis Joplin _ Jimmy Hendrix _ Chicago _ Traffic _ Trapeze _ Smokey and the Miracles - Gladys Knight and the Pips _ the Isley Brothers _ Ted Nugent _ Isaac Hayes and the list goes on.

@Charity The music was definitely more authentic and well balanced. And it had soul.

music and art are so subjective so that is so difficult to say. In my case, i loved the sound of the old singers like Sinatra, Crosby, et al, and the big band sound of the large jazz bands of the 40s into the 50s.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Zonuss i agree more to that then your original statement. There is an amazing apparent rebirth now.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@samueltyler2 Todays music is mostly centered around trap music and pop.
Of course you have your underground artists who have some outstanding work.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Zonuss I am a member of the state Jazz society. We sponsor developing young artists. They are amazing. The local colleges have jazz programs for music majors.

The 1960’s IF you look at when at least 20-25 great bands got started versus perhaps the height of their popularity. In either case, here are a few:

The Beatles
The Rolling Stones
The WHO
The Beach Boys
Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young
The Doors
Fleetwood Mac
The Greatful Dead
Simon and Garfunkel
The Yardbirds
Led Zepplin
The Kinks
Pink Floyd
The Velvet Underground
Jefferson Airplane
Cream
Credence Clearwater Revival
Blood, Sweat and Tears
The Allman Brothers
The Moody Blues
Bee Gees
Janice Joplin

And I’m still probably missing a lot…

It’s a tough list for another decade to beat.
VisionQuest · 51-55, M
I agree. The 70s produced so many genres and sounds and styles. No other decade produced so much variance.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@VisionQuest I agree. It was the last decade of genuine expression. An era where music was in its purest form... natural state. ☺
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
The seventies certainly had a lot of great music. But I think the biggest advances in music were made in the sixties, with the Beatles, Stones and the british rock invasion..

The best decade is whichever one you were a teenager in, or the one before or after. Good luck finding anyone over 30 who says the best music is coming out right now.
Thrust · 56-60, M
@LeopoldBloom Agreed
Levenrack · 46-50, M
@LeopoldBloom well I like some new stuff. Alternative/Indie Pop like Joywave and The Midnight, cause it's mostly retro based. Lol 😆 go figure.
Charity · 61-69
@LeopoldBloom and I find the teenagers of today continually go back to the music of the 1950s and 60s and play it loudly, they like it too.
No argument from me
Thrust · 56-60, M
Either the 70's or 80's. I go back and forth
Pretzel · 70-79, M
oh it's the 60s and the 70s for me
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
90s. It just seems really cool to me
[media=https://youtu.be/vx9jIjWFXq4]

But I could say 70s, 80s even 2000s for different reasons
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@caPnAhab The 1990s definitely had its own lane. But because the artists, especially in hip hop did such heavy sampling I gotta go with the era that influenced it.
The 1970s.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@Zonuss fair enough!
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
Eighties. Hands down
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@Jenny1234 Definitely the most commercial.
Levenrack · 46-50, M
The 80s, only cause it was during my impressible years. All of it. Even 80s country/western.... and I literally loathe modern country.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@Levenrack Country music was really good up until the early 2000s.
England66 · 61-69, M
The 60's were music started never beaten
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@MayorOfCrushtown Exactly. ☺
