So far he hasn't seen my scars yet and I am kinda fretting over what to say when he does

I mean mostly I just want to say it's a coping mechanism I developed that I don't use anymore, and I can talk about it as much or as little as he likes

I guess ask yourself how you would react to seeing him with similar scars. I’d imagine you’d understand.
He’s not going to expect you to be perfect and if he cares about you, he’ll be ready to accept you as you are.
