Why be kind to something that bites on sight? Avoid it would be more sensible.

I try to, but I can’t get too close otherwise I’ll be full of bites and my own life starts to fall apart. There’s only so much I can take.

I used to readily extend a helping hand to those that had a terrible upbringing and home life, but I've learned through hard won experience that it can be a bad idea. I had my life turned inside out and upside down some years ago when I tried to help someone I'd known for years that was in bad emotional shape. It turned into a NIGHTMARE. So these days I tend to keep on walking. One doesn't need to be drawn into someone else's bullshit and drama. It's not worth the lost sleep or my case, the legal fees it cost me to get her out of my life at the time.

Know upfront that the System is stacked against a man, and once you're in it, you'll play HELL trying to get out of it. There's some people that just can't BE helped no matter how much you try. Better to pass them by and save yourself a ton of regret.
