Schrödinger's cat again

So he put the cat in the box, if you open it there's 50% possibilities for the cat to be dead or alive and that's how he explained quantum behaviour...right ?

So if you put a cat into the box and you open it and you have a dog, is this a way parallel dimensions and timeline jumps could be explained ? But then if you jump into a parallel timeline, scientists may be different too, your location, all sorts of things. How could you convince them that indeed this is what happened ?

well. sort of. it was an attempt to illustrate a thing known as 'superposition' where something is in two different states at the same time. you only know once you've opened the box (in quantum terms, your observation collapses the superposition and makes the particle decide on its state - make the cat decide to be either alive or dead for the example.

I wonder if I can find the really cool youtube about observation changing things with lasers. it was mind melting, kinda.
