there is this famous saying from Jean Paul Sartres, the existentialist philosopher: " existence precedes essence" . by this he basically meant that there is no secret meaning of life that we need to find, we create the meaning of life as we go so. people always stop at the down side of existentialism, there is no meaning to life, but really this is very empowering, you are free to invent why you are here and what you want to do about it.
