My arts and crafts project is going well

I am currently modifying and updating a work of history. I have shortened its length and modified it s gripping mechanism as it were. I have also sanded it down both wood and metal and I'm applying new Chrome and a plastic rubberized coating over what used to be stained wood. It will be beautiful when I am done

What is it?

"Piece of history"? However skilled your work I hope you are not irretrievably altering what should be conserved.

@ArishMell oh no this is not that type of History nothing critical to the retelling of a bygone era or anything like that it is just something with age upon it that is being restored and made a new

@KingofBones1 I know someone who proudly exhibited on Facebook, photos of a large-scale model engine he had just completed, costing a lot of money for raw materials and hundreds of hours of spare time.

It attracted curious messages asking its monetary value, yet he had said nothing about selling it and had no such intention anyway.

Fortunately he realised the danger and blocked such questions unanswered.
