It's unfortunate when other mom's talk poorly of you in front of their kids...

I'm chaperoning my son's field trip tomorrow and apparently a few kids don't want to be in my group because I'm the weird mom...

Most the kids love me because I don't have a stick up my butt 😆

I only see these people at birthday parties and school events. They mercilessly ignore and avoid me like I even care. I tried my best to be friendly and welcoming even though I'm quiet, but yes, I'm weird. I'm awkward. I don't have fb or insta and I'd rather play with the kids than sit around and gossip.

Tough tiddies mamas I get to exist too!

But I feel for the kids who are influenced by their parents shittalk. We should be supportive, parenting isn't easy. Neither is being a kid.

I could have written this. I never fit in with the mum groups at my kids schools. I don't feel bad though. My kids call me weird, but they think thats a plus. "No one else has a mummy like we do" still my favorite thing any of them have said.
@Kuronekko weird mom's rock! I just got back from the field trip earlier and had a great time!

@MarbleMarvel good for you! Stay weird 🤘🏻

I hear you, I could never get in with the normies either. I'm constantly anxious and in survival mode. Occasionally get too comfortable because I'm just trying to be normal and then share too much too quick, lol, that's embarrassing. Can't ever relax. People probably think I'm on drugs but it's really just trauma. So yeah that's me. I can relate to you.
@Notsimilarreally oh girl I get this so much 😂 there's another mom like that but I can't get through to her she's so self conscious about it. I have noticed even the normies are fkn weird anyway 😂 so I just keep being me.

I agree. Being supportive of others removes hatred, conflict, feelings of inadequacy, termoil, discord, bullying, ignorance and intolerance for others who are different or diverse.
Not to mention small mindedness.
@Bang5luts it would solve a lot. Some people never evolve before they start teaching others and it shows

@MarbleMarvel and that is the tragedy truly.

@ThreeLittleBirds thank you 😂
A long time ago, I heard sthg which resonated with my experience:

In Europe, it's ok to be eccentric.
In the US, people want more uniformity.
@SomeMichGuy maybe I need to go to Europe then
@MarbleMarvel Tell them you are a political refugee from a failed state; they will bow their heads and agree.

@Bexsy it's so strange, like some kinda club...

Exactly 🖕🏼😂 I'm always respectful so I don't feel bad about anything except feeling bad for the kids stuck with parents that are gonna stifle them.

I remember my mother had a rough time fitting in with other moms as well in class, it becomes such a gossip culture and if you're not good at putting on a mask, or don't want to be fake, they will hate you
@MartinTheFirst I can't mask anymore
I wonder if deep down they long to break free and be more like you.
@NudasPriest they are very uptight and always thought the van was weird 😂 idk I just wish the kids could make up their own minds
@MarbleMarvel The van is awesome!
@NudasPriest I miss it 😭

I notice in some circles conforming is high priority... practically a religion. Really creepy people.

@Notladylike we had a blast!
Wow, they sound useless. And they impart that kind of intolerance to another generation. 🙁
@bijouxbroussard yeah it makes me sad for the kids. Good kids too... I hope they learn one day, we don't all need to be the same 😔
