When someone insults you and/or calls you out on something and what they say is actually CORRECT, what should you do?

Whenever this happens I'm clueless. I WANT to insult them back but if what they said is actually true then I can't really say anything. So I just stay quiet.

A more or less recent example that happened to me went something like:

Person: "So you don't put effort into anything at all, anything you're not immediately good at you abandon, you never practice, you just wanna be good right away, and yet you have the audacity to wonder and complain why you're not good at anything, and also resent and hate anyone better than you?!"

And I couldn't even come up with a proper response, so I just stayed quiet. I secretly knew that everything they said was 100% true, even though I absolutely hated it.

Why clueless? You’ve acknowledged that they’re correct so think more about what they’ve said, learn something from it and do something about it!

@OlderSometimesWiser Yeah, that's probably accurate. Better to learn something from it and do something about it rather than resenting the person and trying to insult them back. That'd only make me look worse and even less intelligent.
