Honestly, not replying is one of the better responses you can have in that situation. Kinda takes a lot of maturity to acknowledge that they were right, wishing you the absolute best in fixing those problems.

Do better. Beat yourself. Beat your own record.
You have the courage to admit they saw you the way you see yourself too. But see, changing that so that you'll have a proper response when someone tries to say that to your face again requires effort and time from you.
If being on the receiving end of that hurts you, step up and don't give them a reason to say that about you.
Sometimes the harshness of other people do tend to hurt. But sometimes, it lets us accept what we already know. That we know we could do better, so we ought to do exactly that.
Yes, I speak from experience.

If it's constructive criticism I’ll take it. If they’re being disrespectful I’ll tell them to watch their mouth. Now if they don’t stop I’ll fire back. I happen to be a good judge of character. I pay attention to people’s flaws too. Normally I keep them to myself but I will show my claws when necessary lol

@Nunki Yes, I take you as someone who knows how to set boundaries with who. It's a good skill to have.

I am going to assume that whoever said that was probably older (over 40) and is probably not perfect themselves.
When we are in our 20's the entire world seems to have something smart 4ss to say to us and trying to tell us how to live, because of course they brag "I was working four jobs full time to put myself through college when I was your age". BUUUULLLLLLsh*t!
I do have some good news though - once you get a bit older, and have more life experience, people generally quit messing with you because then when they say something to p*ss you off, you will know exactly how to respond in a way they will not like.
Oh and here is something funny - I am sure you have heard Gen X people (age 45 to 60) say things like, "We worked for what we wanted, we respected our parents." Well, I happened to be around back then and let me tell you, WE WERE F*CKING ROTTEN! Just ask the baby boomers (The parents of Gen X)

Problem comes in when they are only partly correct. Which is usually the case.
Few ever look at the bigger picture. And if they do, is it really the whole picture?
The best lies have a whole lot of truth. Mostly because they never reach the target of the truth.
Close is not the target. Close is still a near miss.
A bullseye is not a close shot. And only the very best can hit a bullseye every time. Even then it depends on the age and ability.
How many 90 year olds can hit a bullseye? And how many times? Same can be asked of novices. 🤷🏻♂

Why clueless? You’ve acknowledged that they’re correct so think more about what they’ve said, learn something from it and do something about it!
EzraIsShy76028 · 22-25
@OlderSometimesWiser Yeah, that's probably accurate. Better to learn something from it and do something about it rather than resenting the person and trying to insult them back. That'd only make me look worse and even less intelligent.
DestroyerOfIdeologies · 26-30, M
It's FUN to be wrong. Silence or one word or one sentence replies are best.
If you can get people to talk or write in paragraphs and essays, a whole 1 hour TED talk and you've only spoken a few words, you have lived a Great Life.

Take accountability and move on
EzraIsShy76028 · 22-25
@HijabaDabbaDoo Yeah. Not taking accountability will only make me look like a child throwing a tantrum.
Learn.

"correct" is pretty subjective these days...

Don't insult them back. Tell 'em they were right and that you've got some shit to work on. That's the adult response.

Yeah… nothing about sloth is becoming. You might want to consider upping your game at whatever you do.

@BohemianBabe Lol. Funny.
If it is indeed correct - then you learn from it and acknowledge it or refute it.
UndeadSona · F
I usually own it if it's true cause the fuck they gonna do about it
EzraIsShy76028 · 22-25
@UndeadSona Yeah, if it's true not much you can do.
