I believe that silence is more special now than it ever has been, in a time period where silence or even quiet virtually never happens because of the

constant stimulation and need for instant gratification in our technological society. And there appears to be no more of a distinction between performers and audience members since the advent of social media; now everyone is both a performer and an audience member, where everyone is constantly performing everything, all of the time and every single thing has to be documented and recorded. And it is no exaggeration to say that every event in everyday life is now recorded, especially with the arrival of Youtube shorts. It is a prison. It's terrible. I feel as if no one is ever alone with their own thoughts anymore and they seem incapable of doing so. So, when in silence it is like you are taking your first full breath of fresh air in months after walking in a fog of perpetual clamor and being in a trance.

There's a lot of truth in what you said.
But consider this truth that was, is, and always will be without thought stealing mind probes.
Your thoughts ARE your private world. Truly the only private place we can all choose to go.
