We Got A Storm Last Night, And Have Ice On The Roads, The Schools Are Closed Today…

The boy is home. Ray asked me to make brown rice porridge. Made a large pan of that and put butter, maple syrup and chopped walnuts on mine. Squirrel was in the bird feeder, ate all the cookies and working on the sunflower seeds. I might go out in a while and refill it.

Do you have ice or snow where you live?

Yes, we have snow, but it appears to be the same snow we had a couple of days ago.

Your brown rice porridge sounds like a wonderful, warm, homey breakfast on an icy and snowy day!!!

@4meAndyou There are at least 4 squirrels. I saw one grab a little container of almond butter that I was putting out every day one week and it was running down the street with it in it’s mouth to take it in its nest. I have been putting little Maria flat cookies in the feeder along with seeds and sometimes nuts for them to eat. The birds also eat some of the seeds.

@cherokeepatti I used to just LOVE the wildlife around my house on Long Pond Rd. I REALLY miss it. And I know the ex won't bother to feed the birds. I am sure they all died during the winters long ago...😢
