Feeling the best I have in decades, then my employer decides to make substantial changes, eliminating 33 positions. Thankfully, I have high seniority so I'm able to stay where I'm at. Unfortunately my younger coworkers will have to relocate for resign. This does not sit well.
The urge to get into the bottle and use it as a numbing agent has been strong, but I refer to the Serenity Prayer and AA. I cannot change what is happening but I can adjust.
Change. We don't deal well with it. I left my job on Thursday. I didn't really want to but they need to make 400 redundancies and another university offered me something I couldn't refuse in that situation. But I'm very conscious I'm in a vulnerable state currently. Stay safe.
At least you get to keep your job. They are younger can probably get another job easier than you. Next year I will be at my job 23 years. I would not what to be the new guy anymore
