When it comes to lending out money always take some form of collateral. Don't be such a nice guy. If he wants to borrow $20 from you take something of his that's worth $30. If they get all defensive then you know from the start you'd never get your money back in the first place.

@PrincessVelvet good advice. I won't be so easy next time

Well, my diagnosis is you are trying to too hard to be friends with Johnny. Instead of showering him with money, try to offer your genuine friendship. Sometimes a true friend is worth more than $20 (USD).

You can kiss that money goodbye

Sorry

@greensnacks eh. There's a lesson in there somewhere
I think it’s a lesson some of us have learned the hard way at one time or another. My lesson cost me a thousand bucks but that was many years ago and never repeated.

@OlderSometimesWiser you wouldn't forget a lesson costing you a thousand. We'll see if 20 will be as potent a reminder

Seems like a fair price to get a toxic person out of your life. It is all about perspective.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow didn't seem like a toxic guy... Maybe a bit troubled. Guess I'll never know
