Why does the chance of getting adopted is more if your younger?

Are older ones more expensive or something?
my friend told me that no one wants to adopt teenagers.
They are liable to kill you, since you're not their real folks.
I wish whoever you are asking this for good luck. I hope he/she gets a great foster family to care for them.

@jjoe01: I'm not asking for anyone. A lot of people in my class is adopted so I'm curious.
ok

the younger you get them, the more you get to mould them to your idea of what children should be. Once they get to teenage years, you're more or less taking on someone else's ideas & faults, taught to the teenager (plus, teenagers up for adoption have often been through a number of families & tend to be less socialised & more problematic - on average, I must stress).

@Kawaii: oh! OK, then you're almost certainly not adopted, and your mother saying that bit about the garbage can was probably about her finding some momentary behaviour on your part so different from her ideas that she couldn't understand where it came from, maybe?
Kawaii · F
@firefall: oh. okay. it was nice meeting you firefall bye.

@Kawaii: ciao, take care of yourself.

They're more expensive in the fact that they'll eat all the food and drive the power and water bills up substantially. However, I think they're adopted less because they aren't cute little kids, and that tends to be what adopting parents are looking for

@Kiwi-Dan: what happens to those that don't get adopted?
SW-User
@Kawaii: They just stay in foster care or, if they don't do well there, get grouped together in a special home.
Kawaii · F
@Kiwi-Dan: forever?

Maybe your friend said it in a jokingly fashion, as teenagers are often jokingly referred to as 'trouble'. To answer your question: I think most people who adopt a child want to do it early on, so that they can have the full experience of having a child, from birth onwards.

It's not super fast as it would be in the city but it's pretty good. I have few complaints
Kawaii · F
@crabbyhermit: the wifi I have sucks so much 😡 and I'm in the city...
Socialclutz · 36-40, M
Oh well can't help you there

Most want a baby or someone younger because they may not have the chance to have children biologically and they want to watch that child grow up. They want to be the person that has raised that child from a very young age up until they are adults. They want the complete experience.
Kawaii · F
oh. that makes sense.

I think it might have something to do with adopting someone who's less developed and thus more impressionable/influencable. More of an imprint on raising them- at least theoretically- since they're younger.
Kawaii · F
oh, but what happens to the kids that don't get adopted?
Because people want to raise the child the majority of its life, like a real parent, I suppose.
Kawaii · F
oh. then why not just have one 😕
@Kawaii: some people are not capable of getting pregnant.
Kawaii · F
@MorbidCynic: oh. that's kind of sad if u really want a child...
Teens are almost adults most people want to adopt children or babies idk
Kawaii · F
oh. but that's kind of sad.

No one wants a stranger in their home... they want a kid they can bring up in their own way. Make into family.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Kawaii: They can... However usually the teens does not want to. That is the fear. They already have their beliefs and opinions. A child is easier to adapt into a family.
