@Morvoren Your uncle lived his childhood during the usual hundreth year Global economic collapse, its expected centennial pandemic, and the social and political criminality that always follows it through the rest of a century.
He had no way of knowing about these things and was just an unwitting child of humanity.
This time is different. The criminals are playing their usual power plays while far more of us numerically are aware that the major press is a paid for liar, the government and its teaching institutions are bought and paid for indoctrination centers, and last centuries criminals are fighting this centuries criminals trying to drag all the rest of us into their horror show by making us pick sides.

@SteelHands That’s just excuses. People need to decide for themselves and not allow themselves to be so easily manipulated.

@Morvoren The draft isn't what my generation thought of a easily manipulated. The other choices we had when it wasn't even us who vote in the power hungry elitist liars were become a violent cynic who hates his country. Run for office. Yeah. Sell out to the highest campaign donor. Enlist as an objector empty bed pans in a field hospital far from the fire lines otherwise die as a field medic on the battlefield. Not so great a solution. Be branded coward and die in bangkok or in your gpas case, on one side or the other of the "iron curtain" and never see your kin again.
I'll attribute your lack of understanding to too few years and no status as a former military member.
No country was never meant to be the world's law givers - neither domestically or as a global enforcer. Then those behind the scenes unified superpowers deals always end up going stale by one of them doing way better.
The fact is power corrupts. The correlary to that is that corrupt people seek power. Every hundred years or so they converge. And that's why we have the monopolies and corrupt politics in this era.
You aren't wrong about this. Many men are becoming whiners and. Women - ultra karens. Although sticking up for the governments that encourage men's submission and women's hatred of it isn't really addressing the issue. All of the history you know, even the most honest narrative excludes the most important, if less obvious, aspects.
You only think all men are weak. Fact of the matter is that weakness isn't the problem. Ignorance is the problem. And the ignorance has arrived at both ends of the wealth spectrum. They all piss in one pot at this point to the detriment of the bulk of the world's Population. It's so obvious you can't even see it.
