I haven't made a post for a long time

And I don't have anything much of interest to say.

BUT! I have a mundane complaint. It costs 30p now for a plastic bag from the supermarket. In how many years has it gone from a penny, to 2p, 5p, 10p?

I'm in favour of the idea and the reasons and I usually bring bags to re-use when I plan to go to the shops. Anyway, it just caught me by surprise 🤷‍♀️

Retail is screwed.
Still recoiling from high expense import costs they're still only making money to cover overheads.

So they're bumping prices on the essentials and saying it's for x y z reasons when in fact it's because customers are spending less; reducing what they now consider 'luxury' items.

Plastic bags don't last like they used to.
They're made thinner and weaker by design.
Either because the company is taking reducing it's carbon footprint costs in line with regulations seriously, or because they know that there'll always be customers who'll pay up no matter what they charge.
