I haven't made a post for a long time

And I don't have anything much of interest to say.

BUT! I have a mundane complaint. It costs 30p now for a plastic bag from the supermarket. In how many years has it gone from a penny, to 2p, 5p, 10p?

I'm in favour of the idea and the reasons and I usually bring bags to re-use when I plan to go to the shops. Anyway, it just caught me by surprise 🤷‍♀️

i remember the days when the cashier or bag boy/girl would put your groceries in bags for you....doesn't happen any more. (well in my country, anyway)
@beermeplease They still bag for you here in iowa, but 27 years ago I was a checker at Cub Foods, now WinCo, where they had to bag themselves, we also had to bag ourselves at Food4Less in Las Vegas.
@NativePortlander1970 i wish we still had baggers. some people take there sweetass time, which drives me nuts
@beermeplease At Cub and Food4Less they had split lanes so that the slower patrons wouldn't feel rushed, but yes, even with those there were always some that made a sloth seem like Speedy Gonzales.
