What to do when you feel disrespected by your younger sibling?

I told him to act civilized and respect me because I'm older and his response was even worse than the original issue and it's making me feel hurt and a little pissed because I treat him better than that.
Ok, I agree that being older is not a great reason, but that's not necessary either. Being civilized and respecting people should be a no-brainer.
@NerdyPotato He really needs to get that.

Being older is not a reason to be automatically respected I'm afraid. Not anymore, too many people abuse "respect me for I'm older"

Unfortunately you can't make him be decent towards you if he doesn't want to be.

Is it possibly a jealousy issue? As strange as it may sound younger siblings of disabled people are often jealous of the extra attention you get because of your disability.

I could be wildly off on this, for all I know he's disabled too, it's just that I've come across this before so I can't help but wonder if that's what his problem with you is really stemming from.
Is there a bone of contention here? or is it a general attitude ?
