Gen Z Says Boomers Will Never Understand Today's Struggle

"We need to stop expecting the same damn people who bought a four-bedroom home and a brand-new Cadillac convertible off of a $30,000-a-year salary to understand what it's like to be working 40-plus hours a week with a master's degree and still not being able to afford a 400-square-foot studio apartment in bumf-ck Iowa," he said.

This discourse comes in the wake of criticisms by prominent figures who have labeled Gen Z as "lazy" for their differing attitude toward work. Scott's response highlights a fundamental disconnect, pointing out that despite following the prescribed path of education and employment, many young adults find themselves in precarious financial positions.

These were comments made after Dave Ramsey a popular personal finance rich guy tried to knock millennials and gen z for still living with parents:

Pros and cons to both generations. There are things that make a huge difference nowadays like inflation and AI . But on the other hand there are so many opportunities of making money with technology it’s almost shooting yourself in the foot if you don’t have multiple streams of income.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Heavenlywarrior No because not everyone can have multiple streams of income depend on a lot of things. Dropshipping takes about 1,000 Dollars per three day ad, virtual assistance you still need to go to school, investing you have to have money to make money, real estate virtual is also a scam. I've tried them all, no way is it easy to have multiple streams of income.

Door dash is about three dollars per order and that's base, depending on if the person tips or not. If you live in a state where the houses are spread out you're just wasting gas. All the other delivery services are the same way.

If someone is making money off of multiple streams of income, they're finding ways to circumvent the companies system which is good don't get me wrong.

I been there done that though, you don't make as much money as you think.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Heavenlywarrior the people on YouTube videos who tell you about alternative income streams make money thru their videos, ads or courses not from anything else.
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@SatanBurger yeah. Some also stream playing games. Some do reaction videos. Then connect their merch to it .

It ain’t easy but anyone who put in that work can benefit. It’s out there for all of us to get . How bad do we want it is the question.
Rolexeo · 26-30, M
@Heavenlywarrior I think it's only a select few. Even women doing OF average only under $200 a month, and guys are sex crazed.
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@Rolexeo only $200 a month? Maybe it depends on the woman . There’s money to be made . It’s just getting in that flow and right strategy.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Heavenlywarrior No to be an influencer requires a certain personality type, not everyone has that.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@Heavenlywarrior I think a big focus of the post is the 40 hour work week. Yeah, there's a few more ways to side hustle a little extra cash. But having to trade every waking moment to get it is counter to the spirit of the post. The reason the baby boomers got to enjoy 40 hour work weeks that paid well is because their parents and grandparents got fed up with having to work every waking moment of their lives and managed to get policies and unions in place.

Suggesting that the solution to a 40 hour job not providing a middle class lifestyle is to work more side jobs is taking its backwards, but forwards.

The hustle doesn't make you cool. It makes you another cog in the system of exploitation.
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@SatanBurger yeah true. How many at home jobs are out there tho. Also every body has something somebody wants
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@ViciDraco it’s about adapting and I addressed the post and elaborated
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Heavenlywarrior Go fill out applications to at home jobs and see lol about 70% of them are scams. I've tried those as well. They spam job sites. The real companies that hire are looking for degrees.
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@SatanBurger I have and have worked several before. Maybe it depends what you are trying to do vs just getting money to meet goals
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@SatanBurger one example of adapting is Using AI. You know how many people are using AI to write books for them? And profiting ?
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Heavenlywarrior No it's largely a scam and over saturated. I've heard of people using AI to create art to sell but if you look at most AI art sites they don't sell anything, they're actually losing money because it's .20 a posting for the supplier with no reviews nor purchases.

You're trying to tell me this because you watch YouTube videos of people being successful. They do that with data entry too yet data entry scams are common and most of those YouTubers make money by selling courses, not in the things they're making videos about.

@Heavenlywarrior keep in mind I'm not saying you're wrong, there's at home jobs but it's heavy with scams too.
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@SatanBurger I agree. And you can’t get rich quick. But like he said it’s a supplemental tool and attach it to a brand. Increase productivity. It’s just another tool that can be used to help people reach their goals.

And people have made money using it regardless.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Heavenlywarrior Like I said, they are influencers with a certain personality type, not everyone can do that.
