Why do people on here get into relationships with each other on this site even though everyone is anonymous here and can be fake too?

I have seen several accounts here who are in relationship with someone from this site and they are all grown adults even as old as in their 50s or 60s and saying each other in their posts how much they love each other, in their whiteboards and gifts too that how much they love each other. How? Long distance relationships dont even work most of the time and on top of that pretty much everyone on this site has anonymous usernames, not their own pics and also there are too many fake accounts here and catfish too so how do they do it? Do they just want relationship in the easy mode because they are too afraid to try with someone they can meet in person or in the same city? This site isnt even a dating site so why can't they just use a dating app instead? Why do even some of the older men and older women here do that? I see older men who are 40+ messaging women and hitting on them here thinking they can get into relationship with them without even knowing that she can be a catfish or something. I have also seen people on here using the word rejection if the man gets blocked or ignored even though they dont even know each other and are completely anonymous and miles apart from each other. Most people on this site live in their own bubble and always wants it the easy way. Its funny and stupid how easily some people believe each other on a site like this hahahaha

Hmmmm...horses for courses, I think.

Who's to say that people on here don't interact with each other via video calls etc. This could be a way of meeting people - myself, I have a number of lovely friends that I had met DECADES ago on EP - and talking through issues/interests with like-minded people.

But, yes.....I'd agree that there's some pretty dodgy people around here at times...

Whatever makes people happy, right?

@SammyJo i am not talking about the friendships. I am only talking about the dating and relationships part with people on this site. Long distance relationships are hard and most of the time doesnt work and its even worse on this site as everyone is anonymous and there are fake accounts and catfishes on here too

@Heroisthebest23 Yes, I know about that but the fact remains that people can still use the same mediums - video calls etc - for relationships as well as friendship, can't they?

There are lots of people that are fake on here...but it's easy to negotiate the blatant ones at least!

@SammyJo But i feel people who try to get into relationship with someone on this site just wants a relationship in the easy mode as they are afraid of trying with someone whom they can meet in person and afraid of the efforts. If you compare this site to real life its like comparing a small village or town or suburb to a big metropolitan city.

@Heroisthebest23 Whilst I do agree with that....to a degree....we 'connect' with who we 'connect' to. My partner, as an example, I connected with her like no one before...we had time apart...and, try as I could, I could never find another like her. Thankfully we got back together and life has been gravy ever since.....

So whilst I think the world has gone soft in terms of relationships - it's easier these days to break up/divorce etc - and this has probably migrated over to online ones as well - there are those of us that revel in the connection that we have with whoever we have....and put the work in.

@SammyJo i just said that I messaged this girl Ayushi on Instagram in January who goes for the same classes as me but we arent in the same class and we never interacted before so she never replied to me. She is within 22-24 age range and I am also 23. Suddenly last month, this guy named Akshat confronted me asking why did i message Ayushi and he said he is her boyfriend. One of my classmate was there too. I had to apologize to him and say that i didnt know she had a boyfriend and i already have crush on someone else and then he finally said its ok just don't message her ever again.

My wife has some people - both male and female - that fancy her. This I know...and, if we happen to be around them I never do anything like that...I just say that they too have '...good taste', that just signifies that I know!

@SammyJo yeah he is also within 22-25 age range for sure as I am 23 and most people in those classes are in the same age range as me. I just never had a girlfriend so i ended up messaging her without knowing she had a boyfriend. Now i am having crush on a girl there who is also within 21-23 age range but she too is in a different classroom. We have brief conversations and i even complimented her but she is very pretty almost model like whereas I look like a nerd in my glasses plus idk whether she is single too or not so idk how much chances i have with her.
