Don't rely on pensions to provide what you need when you want to retire. Take a portion of your earnings and put it away or invest it. Learn about all the ways your money can make you money and be careful of high risk. I knew someone who invested in high risk and in one year almost lost it all. I wish I had done this when I was your age or younger but at that time, pensions, 401k and social security, government retirement plans and such were more stable. The financial state of this world is becoming more and more difficult to ensure you have a good retirement so plan ahead.
@Luckylu a lot of later happiness will depend on following this advice.
