You can't change your main customization in real life (well, you can, but its costly) , but you can build yourself a different character from the inside-out over time.
I think you may be dissatisfied because you may be holding back from something.
It may be scary... but breathe deeply and live, for real.
To live for real, you must actively pursue what you want in life.
Of course, do things reasonably, but don't hold back on a leap of faith.
Sometimes that is all it takes to change a life.
Failing at something is less scary than never attempting anything.
Sometimes it takes a fail to get to win something a little later.
The moment you work on your fears and surmount them, the colors will come back.
