First of all, I’m sorry for your loss, and yeah, maybe take a little break. I would watch true crime stories a lot, and it definitely affected my mental health. Obviously, everyone is different, but I think it’s good to have a balance and not consume so much of something.

I know what you mean. When I found out a friend of a friend was murdered it was all over the news in fragments. It was weird knowing more than those investigating it and hearing incorrect reports on it. Can’t watch true crimes the same way anymore.

@Selah True, there’s a thin line between enjoying murder stories for the wrong reasons, and learning more about the crime, the breakdown of the interviews from a criminal psychology standpoint, etc.

I had to stop watching violent and horror movies after a friend of mine was murdered in 2016.
It took a long time to watch such things again, and I still avoid it.
So sorry for your friend.
I hope they find and skewer her killer.
