It's because being in a relationship is often not as wonderful as it seems, if you've been in relationships you know that it isn't all good. People who have never been in a relationahip will likely build up an unrealistic image of what it is like to be in one and as a result feel like they are missing out. It also damages a persons confidence because they feel like there is something wrong with them that makes them unattractive.

@Misanthropic Honestly I can understand because I am 22 and never been in a relationship and already feel as if I am running out of time so can't imagine how a 40 year old will feel who is in the same boat as me.

@Heroisthebest24 I was 23 when I lost my virginity and I felt undateable before I did lose it, but the confidence that comes with experience will make you more attractive to women.

@Misanthropic I do have a crush on a girl who is also 22 but I am just shy to even say her hi. Usually she is the one who tries to talk to me and I answer her. We are in the same class where I go for preparation for exams to get into an MBA B School as I just graduated college last month.

To make thing worse, our selection dwindles as we all age. We just are not as attractive and there are less people in the dating pool.

They feel sad because of missing out on the experience of a loving relation with a woman that the others have had. They have kissed a woman, had intimacy, even if the relationship ended. It makes the former feel like losers. Maybe there is more to it, shyness, feeling uncomfortable in social situations, and so they never had the opportunity to meet someone. Just my estimate.
