Why do people iron??

I have no idea why anyone would iron clothes regularly. I iron the occasional item but in general, no way! Such a waste of time. Hang it on a hanger to dry and it won’t be creased.

My mother almost had a heart attack today when I told her I haven’t got my iron out in about 6 months.

As I told her, she has time to waste! I do not 🤓

It's about fabric types more than anything else.
Natural fabrics like cotton, silk , all cotton denim, taffeta etc get all crumply when you wash them .

But with modern fabrics and clothes dryers, you barely get any wrinkling any more .

I threw out my ironing board years ago , but I keep my iron for my natural fabrics ....and only when I go to wear them .

And an ironing does leave a nice smooth sheen on some fabrics which has a beautiful feel - like linen ...it can't be beat for feel factor 🤗
